This is Dan from Vagabond Buddha. We leave Malaysia on Monday on our retire in Thailand or Vietnam tour. We will be visiting the places in both Thailand and Vietnam that foreigners are most interested in retiring. Let us know if you agree with our planned stops along the way.

On Monday, we are heading north into Thailand and Vietnam for about 6 months. We will slow travel around for about 6 months and rank what we believe are the best places to retire in Thailand or Vietnam for cheap.

Sorry Ani Wee, we were in Chaing Rai about 10 days ago. I had read your comment but we didn’t have time to go north into Burma. I read that I would either need a Visa or I could cross the border for 1 day if I left my passport with Burma immigration. I never give my passport away so option 2 was a no-no. Option 1 (Visa) would have made sense if I was going into Burma for a few weeks or months, but we already have flights booked for Vietnam, so that was a no-no also. Next time? Please learn the lenght of stay allowed, how many re-entries are alowed over what period of time. Is it posible to be ‘perpetual tourist’ traveling between these three countries or do you need to add a fourth or ???
Please visit a border town north of Chiangrai, Thailand that is situated inside Burma. The area has Shan minority people and they are of interest to me.
