Why he retired in Thailand and will not move back

In this report, Gary shares why he retired in Thailand and will not move back.

Economy: As he explains in the video, he receives 750 pounds per month for his Scottish retirement. If he tried to retire in Scotland, his rent alone would be about 500 pounds per month. So he would only have about 250 pounds left over for food, utilities, and everything else. So he has a much better life in Thailand than he could in Scotland.

Youtube: Gary has a couple of Youtube channels where you can contact him and ask any questions you have.

How Gary Picked Thailand: Gary left Scotland after dreaming about retiring in Thailand for about 10 years. He first visited with a friend who bought a house there in 2005. But he has since fell in love with Thailand and intends to stay there for his retirement years. He loves the lifestyle and feels he has a better life in Thailand than he could achieve on his UK pension.

Where Gary lives: Gary lives about 6 miles south of Pattaya on the beach in an area called Jomptien. He loves it because it is more chill than the crazy Pattaya area but still has services around where he can get everything done while speaking primarily English.

Retirement Visa Agent: Gary suggests using an agent to process your retirement visa because of the time and aggravation he feels you will save. Contact Gary at this above Youtube channel if you want to contact his agent. If you are curious about an American that suggests processing your own retirement visa and the pros and cons of the two major kinds of (cheap) retirement visas, watch this video:

Internet Service: Gary suggests not getting Internet service for your home in Thailand. He runs his TV, computer, and other Internet devices by using his cell phone as a hotspot which costs him about $10 per month.

Health Insurance: Gary does not have health insurance in Thailand. He plans on returning to Scotland for any major operations he may need in retirement. Many ex-pat retirees around the world are planning to do what Gary suggests. Still, others have local insurance in the country they are living in or have international health insurance that covers them where ever they are in the world.
