Here are some observations about why slow travel expenses might be higher for some people than if you stayed stationary in one city for long term. Our normal retire cheap reports only include estimated basic prices such as long-term accommodations, restaurants, groceries, alcohol, water, sim cards, and utilities.
Since we don’t know you personally, we can’t include everything you will spend money on if you move here. But this slow travel report includes things we spent money on while slow traveling in the Philippines.
You will not know what your slow travel expenses or regular cost of living expenses will be until you put your feet on the ground here and do an exploratory visit to determine where you will stay, where you will shop, where you will eat, and how you will entertain yourself.
Of course, these numbers do not include any inflation that has occurred since the date of this report.
So do not assume you can or would be able to maintain the same expenses as we show here. Here are a few observations, before I cover our expenses for these 146 days. Further observations are made in the above video.
Observations
1. Includes clothing, protein powder, medicine, doctor, haircuts, beauty parlor, mani peddies, facials, vitamins, frying pan, beer at meetups, and tips.
2. Eating out more so we could review the restaurants for retire cheap reports.
3. More tours so we could show you fun things to do in each city.
4. High daily rate on rents because of short-term rentals.
5. Shopping expat grocery stores to see what imported goods were available
6. Nightlife tours to show you life in each destination.
7. Daily rates on scooters in some places.
8. Buses, Taxis, and Ferries between cities during slow travel
9. Dining out daily in Boracay for 2 weeks.
10. We are spending more as income from YouTube and memberships rise.
Things Not Included:
1. Flights from Malaysia to the Philippines, and back again.
2. Costs of operating Webpage and Software renewals.
3. Health insurance.
