In the above video, we tour two homes, one expensive and one cheap. Then I will show you around town so you get a feel for whether or not you are interested in visiting or retiring early for cheap in Puerto Morelos, Mexico.

Homes Toured in Above Video
These are not our properties and we do not set the price or terms. We are just sharing where we stayed in town.
Expensive Apartment (Airbnb.com): We paid $879 USD for the first place we stayed for Christmas and New Year. That is actually a fairly good price for that time of year because it is in such high demand. The place also included two bicycles, beach chairs, and a cooler. There is also a shared rooftop patio which is not shown in the video. A very nice Canadian-Brazilian family lives at the property and they were very kind and helpful. Here is the Airbnb listing for this place.
Cheaper Longe Term Home: The place rents for $350 USD per month plus you pay your own utilities. It is cheaper because it is long-term. You have to rent it for at least 6 months. The owner’s name is Ann and you can contact her on her Facebook page. Tell her Dan and Qiang said hello. We rented for 30 days for $600 USD including utilities but she normally rents it for 6-month minimums for $350.00.

Restaurants Toured in Above Video
Colonia Side
Quesadillas de la Colonia: Delicious quesadillas starting fro 20 Pesos ($1 USD). It is on the colonia side of Puerto Morelos.
Roasted Chicken: This is the 50 Peso ($2.50 USD) chicken Qiang had in the top video above. We couldn’t find a link on Google to this place, but it is in the same strip mall as this Cedraui grocery store. It faces the front parking lot with its own entrance on the sidewalk.
El Inicio: This didn’t fit in the above video but we had a nice meal here on the Colonia side. This is an ex-pat restaurant price-wise.
Pecao: They do some very creative things with Mexican food here including vegan and vegetarian choices. Great date night place. About twice the price of ‘local’ restaurants.
Rastaquitos: Very creative delicious Mexican food with Rasta flair and local pricing! vegan, vegetarian, and meats. Very satisfying to get nice food priced right.
Favorite Breakfast (El Sazón Mexicano): Still love this place for a local breakfast at local pricing.
Beach Side
Chedraui Wine: This is the Cedraui grocery store on the beachside of Puerto Morelos where Qiang had some nice wine and chicken.
New Year’s Eve Party (Layla): We enjoyed New Year’s eve in this quaint restaurant on the beachside of Puerto Morelos. The food and entertainment were outstanding! They have a great assortment of very healthy food on their menu every day. We went back and enjoyed the vegan Pizza a few days later.
Favorite Beach Bar: Don Ernestos.
Tulum Ruins, Beach, and Cenotes Tour
