In this report we discuss, “Who should not live in Pattaya Thailand.” We accomplish this by comparing Pattaya to nearby Jomtien. Jomptien is a smaller more relaxed community just a few kilometers south of Pattaya City. Both communities are on the beach facing the Gulf of Thailand.
We love both cities but one is likely better for you depending on what you are looking for. We cover 28 factors to help you decide which is better for you.

Before Qiang and I discuss Who should not live in Pattaya, I will spend 30 seconds asking a more difficult question …
Will you survive in Pattaya Thailand?
There are three main risks that will make it more difficult for some people to even survive in Pattaya. Those three risks are sexually transmitted diseases, running out of money, and addictions.
Sexually Transmitted Diseases: Because many people in Pattaya are involved in the sex industry, there is likely a much higher risk of STDs in the general population. Make sure to learn what safe sex practices are and then practice only safe sex until you are in a committed monogamous relationship.
Money: Because you will have more temptations of all kinds, you must be able to monitor your budget closely and learn when to stop spending so you don’t go broke in Pattaya.
Addiction: If you have a tendency or history of addictions of any kind, they may flare up in Pattaya. Once your addictions start to impair your judgment you are more likely to break the safe sex and budgeting boundaries you have established to protect yourself from the temptations here.
