None Peruvians don’t usually say the words, “I am going to Lima on Holiday.” Rather, they say things like “I am going to Machu Picchu.” “I am going to see the Nazca lines.” Lima is a place you investigate on the way because it is in the way. So while you are here, I suggest seeing at least old town Lima and Barranco.

Bus: From Trujillo to Lima, Peru: If you are traveling south through Peru, like us, you can catch a nice bus from Trujillo at the Oltursa bus company departure (Google Map), to their Lima, Peru company destination (Google Maps). This is a 10 hour bus ride and costs about s/75. (Google Currency Converter). Uber works in Lima and I suggest using that. An Uber Taxi to Barranco from the Bus terminal is about s/12.

Bus from Paracas to Lima, Peru: You can catch a nice bus from Paracas to Lima, Peru. For bus times and prices in English, right click on your Chrome browser and select “Translate into English” at the Oltursa website. You can catch the bus here in Paracas and it will drop you here in Lima. It takes 4 hours to get to Lima and costs about s/30. An Uber Taxi to Barranco from the Bus terminal in Lima is about s/12.

Flights: If you need to fly into Lima, you will get the best price from Skyscanner. The cheapest day of the week to depart from most places in the world is often Tuesday or Wednesday. When you land in Lima, make sure to get Peruvian SIM card so you aren’t paying International roaming rates when you use my Google Maps.

I am not offering you these prices.  These are just my notes and estimates from the time of my visit and this post.  Your costs will likely be drastically different if significant inflation or deflation occurs or the market changes after this post.  I will not update these numbers until I am on the ground again here, if ever.
